Hello

&

Welcome to the Kammerhof museum fan site!

The Kammerhof Museum has been the cultural and educational center of Bad Aussee for many years, standing as a jewel in the town's historical crown. Located in the Kammerhof building, the Museum has been owned by the community of Bad Aussee since the 1970s. However the history of the building itself extends back many hundreds of years. First chartered in 1395, the Kammerhof building originally served as an administration building for the local salt mines until 1926. The saltworks dominated the Kammerhof building until 1949 until they set aside a few rooms for a 'local heritage museum' that opened in 1950. Since then the Kammerhof has blossomed to include not only a museum but also the town library, a toy library and rehersal rooms for the Bad Aussee Brass Band.

Through this website you will be able to read not only about the history of the Kammerhof building in significant detail but you will also be provided with a detailed break down of the Museums current exhibits as well as some of their past more spectacular exhibits.

Enjoy!
